A history of infectious mononucleosis caused by the Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) appears to be associated with an increased susceptibility to MS, according to an analysis by the Canadian Collaborative Study Group (Ramagopalan et al. Neuroepidemiology 2009; 32: 257-262).
